The South Shore Educational Collaborative (SSEC) recently signed a lease that will relocate its Hingham school to 86,000 square feet at 105 Research Road in Hingham.
The expansion will accommodate increased enrollment at the school, which gives students advanced therapeutic services for physical and medical needs.
The new facility, which is owned by Foxrock Properties LLC, will consist of 58,000 square feet of existing space as well as a 28,000-square-foot addition, according to a statement. It will contain a gymnasium, locker rooms, a cafeteria, increased bathroom facilities and an expanded playground and recreational areas. The new school will provide parking for 270 vehicles.
"Foxrock Properties is thrilled to be able to partner with SSEC," said Jason Ward, of Foxrock. "We feel this is a great real estate deal which helps us fulfill our mission in two ways. First, it enables us to create the highest and best possible use of our property at 105 Research Road by transforming a 58,000-square-foot industrial warehouse into a state-of-the-art educational facility. Secondly, it enables us to demonstrate good corporate citizenship."
Bob Conrad and Jim McEvoy of The Conrad Group served as the brokers in the lease transaction.
Occupancy for the SSEC, which is currently located in Hingham’s South Shore Park, is expected in 2013.
