A bright orange glow will greet South Station commuters from March 3-9 as the transportation hub shows its support of National Multiple Sclerosis Week.
Clear Channel Outdoor, the new advertising media provider in South Station, signed on to support the MS Week awareness campaign through the orange illumination of the station’s exterior as well as strategically placed campaign messages on its media inside the station and on digital billboards across the Greater Boston community. Orange is the national color for Multiple Sclerosis Awareness. The lighting is designed by Philips Color Kinetics.
In conjunction with the Greater New England MS Society, The Prudential Center and the Zakim Bridge will also be illuminated orange to raise awareness for MS research and services that help people living with the immune-mediate disease.
"The MBTA is honored to join in bringing awareness to National MS Awareness Week by illuminating one of our iconic transportation landmarks in the vibrant orange of the National MS Society," MBTA general manager Beverly Scott said in a statement.
