Tom McGregor has joined Sovereign Bank as a senior vice president and regional office executive for the Worcester market.
Prior to joining Sovereign, McGregor served as senior vice president-senior client manager at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch Global Commercial Banking beginning in 2000. McGregor also held the title of vice president-relationship manager at Congress Financial Corp. in New York City.
In his new role, McGregor will oversee Sovereign’s commercial banking operations in Worcester, lead strategic growth of the bank’s customer base within the segment and drive brand awareness in the region, the bank said in a statement. He will also direct all sales, including cross-selling existing customers and acquiring new Sovereign Bank customers.
McGregor is a graduate of Boston College. He is a board member of both Youth Opportunities Upheld Inc. and Mechanics Hall. He serves as board member and treasurer at the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester.
Sovereign also announced that it has appointed Mark Haskins as a Senior Vice President, Market Manager for its Rhode Island Middle Market Team in the bank’s corporate banking division. Haskins will be based in Providence, R.I.
Sovereign is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spanish banking giant Banco Santander.
