Sovereign To Mark Official Name Change On Beacon Street

Sovereign Bank will mark its official name change to Santander next week with an event at its One Beacon Street branch in Boston.

On Oct. 17, more than 700 branches and 2,000 ATMs will officially adopt the Santander brand. The event is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will include remarks from Santander Region President Mike Bruno, Commercial Banking Market Manager David L’Heureux, Susan Houston of MassEcon and Tom Callahan, the executive director of the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance.

Sovereign Bank is one of the 25 largest retail banks in the country based on deposits and the third largest bank in Massachusetts.
