The money raised will be given to the American Red Cross of Central and Western Massachusetts.

The total contribution was raised through customer collections taken at branch counter canisters, direct bank donations, and a "Help Us Help our Neighbors" social networking campaign which was coordinated via the bank’s Facebook Page. For every new person that connected with the Facebook campaign between June 13 and July 15, Spencer Savings Bank donated $2 to the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts’ relief efforts.

"It is a long road to recovery and nearly two months later this cause is still relevant. All of us here in the Northern, Central, and Western regions have witnessed the devastation caused by the June 1 tornados that touched down and tore through local communities," said Spencer Savings Bank’s president and CEO Mike Robbins. "We’ll continue to raise awareness and lend support to all our neighbors who are still in need due to this unforeseen natural disaster."
