Private equity firm TA Associates Management, L.P. (TA Associates) has signed a seven-year extension of its lease of the 56th floor of the John Hancock Tower in Boston, the firm’s North American headquarters.

McCall & Almy managed the extension of its lease of 31,000 square feet. TA Associates originally occupied the building in 2006 on a sublease from Manulife Financial that expires in March 2015. The John Hancock Tower is owned by Boston Properties, which acquired the building in 2011 from Normandy Partners for $930 million.

"TA Associates started in Boston in 1968, and we are pleased that we will continue to call one of the city’s iconic office towers our headquarters," said Richard Tadler, chairman of TA Associates. "McCall & Almy was an invaluable resource as we explored options in executing a lease agreement that provided TA with a long-term plan for supporting our employees, limited partners and portfolio companies in Boston and around the world."

McCall & Almy’s Dave Richardson and Garrett Larivee, vice president, represented TA Associates and Phillip Dorman, vice president, of Boston Properties represented the landlord.
