The vibrant restaurant and retail scene in Boston’s Seaport District is about to get a further boost from one of its oldest corporate anchors, Fidelity Investments.
Long before Fan Pier rose from Boston’s shores, there was John Drew’s World Trade Center Boston complex, which pioneered commercial development in the Seaport District between 1988 and 1992.
Fidelity Investments will begin revamping its 750,000-square-foot Seaport World Trade Center office complex next year, consolidating office and meeting space and adding new outdoor amenities and retail space.
Google’s workspaces in Cambridge’s Kendall Square will grow to 850,000 square feet with construction of a new 400,000-square-foot office tower and renewals for two other leases at Boston Properties’ Kendall Center development.
