The delinquency rate for mortgage loans on one-to-four unit residential properties decreased to a seasonally adjusted rate of 3.77 percent of all loans outstanding at the end of the fourth quarter of 2019, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) National Delinquency Survey.
Global property information provider CoreLogic reports that 4.8 percent of mortgages nationwide were in some stage of delinquency in February 2018. This represents a 0.2 percentage point decline in the overall delinquency rate, compared with February 2017, when it was 5 percent.
In a welcome departure from the national and local coverage of the presidential election, here’s some good news: sales are way up, foreclosures are leveling off and the housing market is barreling ahead into the fall.
