TD Bank has added two new branch managers.

James G. Schmit, Jr. will be the branch manager of the Buzzards Bay branch located at 121 Main St. Cristina J. Sclafani will manage the Brookline branch located at 1641 Beacon St. in Brookline.

Both Schmit and Sclafani will have the title of assistant vice president, and be responsible for new business development, consumer and business lending, managing personnel and overseeing the day-to-day operations at the store serving customers throughout their branch area.

Schmit has five years of finance experience, serving clients of pension, 401(k) and defined contribution/benefit plans. Prior to joining TD Bank, he served as a store manager at CVS Caremark in Rockland, and a portfolio accountant at State Street Corp. in Quincy. Schmit is a member of the Cape Cod Canal Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Sclafani has five years of experience in retail banking and lending. She joined TD Bank in 2008 and has served as an assistant store manager at TD Bank branches in Georgetown and Melrose before her most recent position as assistant store manager at the TD Bank on Winter Street at Downtown Crossing in Boston. Sclafani is a member of the Brookline Chamber of Commerce and the Brookline Rotary.

A Raynham, Mass., resident, Schmit is a 2010 graduate of Bridgewater State College.

A resident of Everett, Sclafani is certified to teach financial literature on banking for students in grades K-12. She is a 2009 graduate of Lasell College in Newton.
