Three months after opening an office in Boston, the tech-driven Compass Real Estate announced it will open an office across the river in Harvard Square.

Veteran real estate agents John Petrowsky and Christian Jones left Hammond Real Estate to join the new office, which is located at 1 Mifflin Place.

Robert Reffkin, who founded Compass in 2013, said in a statement that the move to Cambridge is a testament to the company’s commitment to providing the best support, technology and service to his agents and his clients.

“We are thrilled to welcome John and Christian to the company. They have built a tremendous business working together all these years, and are the perfect team to help launch our Cambridge presence,” Reffkin wrote.

Petrowsky and Jones were consistent top producers at Hammond and were recognized as a Top-10 Team GCI for the national GMAC network. Petrowsky has been named Realtor of the Year by the Cambridge Council of Realtors.

Compass’s Boston office is located at 126 Newbury St. in Back Bay. The company plans to station 30 on-site engineers in the Boston area.

The expansion to Boston comes after the company’s latest $50 million funding round. In total, Compass has raised $125 million in investor funding, more than any other residential brokerage in the country.
