The Community Bank logoBrockton’s The Community Bank is participating in "Blue Jeans for a Cause" to raise money for local food pantries.

The program, which began in November, has raised $530 so far, according to a statement. Employees contribute $5 on Fridays to be eligible to wear jeans at work. The bank’s corporate office has also committed to a minimum matching donation of $2,000 by Jan 1.

"Our employees are having a lot of fun with this fundraiser," said Jane Callahan, vice president of human resources. "It provides them with a way to give back to our community, while having a little fun at work at the same time."

The money raised will be donated to the Charity Guild Food Pantry in Brockton and to the Sandwich Food Pantry on Cape Cod.
