Worcester’s The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. has expanded its management liability practice by partnering with a workplace law firm and opening an office in San Francisco.
The company will partner with New York-based workplace law firm Jackson Lewis, which will enable The Hanover’s independent agents to offer some clients access to Jackson Lewis’ network of roughly 600 labor and employment lawyers.
Earlier in the year, the company unveiled a group of management liability solutions within the Hanover Profession Portfolio, including a specialty capability to protect private companies against a growing number of financial exposures.

The new partnership provides The Hanover’s EPL customers direct access to Jackson Lewis through a telephone hotline, where they can ask questions regarding the prevention of employment and labor issues, including sexual harassment, job discrimination and wrongful termination.
The company has also added a management liability practice in San Francisco to complement its Chicago and Philadelphia teams.
The new team includes Eric Schuler, director of underwriting. He is responsible for leading the company’s management liability team in San Francisco. Prior to joining The Hanover, Schuler served as regional vice president, management solutions group at Zurich North America. Schuler has also appointed John Dulay and Colin Lyons, as senior underwriters to support the ML business from San Francisco.
