Westwood-based The Penny Candy Store Inc. recently leased 21,232 square feet of industrial space at 10 Merchant St. in Sharon.

The Penny Candy Store’s specialty is old-fashioned penny candy-replicating some dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s. It will use the space as its new packaging facility and will open a wholesale store there, according to a statement.

Cathy Minnerly, executive vice president and partner at Boston-based NAI Hunneman, represented both the tenant and the landlord, John D. Murphy Management Co., in the transaction, according to a statement.

"We’re looking forward to moving to our new quarters in March," said Elias Fares, president of The Penny Candy Store. "It’s a perfect location for our wholesale store as well as for our packaging facility."
