Can I $ U A Drink?
Back in the glory days, The Teller was a real chick magnet. It only took a charming grin or some serious eye contact to land the hottest chick in the bar.
But as time went on, the pickup lines got cheesier and the physique suffered (minimally, we swear!). A beer belly and millions of technological advances later, The Teller often finds ourselves asking middle-aged cougars: “can I $ u a drink?”
Most scoff at the proposition. But give a local company a chance to explain. If you stick around for the second date, you may even be asked “can I $ u a shot–of espresso?” or “can I $ u a slice?”
Thanks to Andover’s PXTMoney, suave guys like The Teller can forget the plastic and instantly load money from PayPal, credit or debit/checking accounts onto a smartphone.
The mobile payment and discount program company is allowing consumers to pay for food, drinks, and other merchandise just by telling the bartender, barista, waiter, or cashier their cell phone number. Now that’s an interesting way to score digits….
The Teller isn’t exactly the demographic that PXTMoney had in mind. The app is targeting college students and young professionals who need discounts, as well as an efficient way to earn spending and even tuition money.
Anyone who signs up a friend is eligible to earn $1. Every time said friend purchases something using PXTMoney, the referrer gets a percentage of that purchase. PXTMoney says the savings should be used for vital spending money – like tuition. But, we all know those college kids are going to go out and splurge on other, more tangible things. Things like Miller High Life.
To all the students out there: Take it from one of your elders with mile-high college debt. Stash away your PXTMoney savings. Hide it under the mattress. Deposit it into your local bank.
Or, put the money toward a down payment so you’re not stuck living in your parent’s basement until the ripe age of 42.
Trust us.
