The acquisition of a Woburn engineering firm with a focus on transportation and infrastructure projects will expand Tighe & Bond’s presence in New England to 13 offices.

The Westfield engineering firm today announced the acquisition of WorldTech Engineering. Located at 300 TradeCenter in Woburn, WorldTech has been rebranded as Tighe & Bond.

“We believe this expanded transportation practice gives us additional opportunity to support our client base given current and forecasted needs for transportation infrastructure improvements. WorldTech’s business model complements our existing capabilities and aligns with our client-focused approach,” Tighe & Bond CEO Bob Belitz said in a statement.

Founded in 2009 by Richard Benevento, WorldTech provides transportation engineering services including civil and site work, traffic, planning, roads and highway and asset management, including a focus on work with municipalities on infrastructure projects.
