Tocci Building Cos. of Woburn has broken ground on Station Landing Apartments, a 34-unit multifamily complex at 431 River St. in Waltham.

The $8.5-million, 60,850-square-foot complex will contain 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space, a roof deck and gym. The project team includes developer Charles River Place LLC, Costa Architects and Cowen Assoc. Completion is estimated in September 2015 under virtual design and construction techniques which will accelerate the construction schedule.

"Waltham is quickly becoming one of suburban Boston’s most active markets not only for commercial development, but also residential projects," said John Tocci, chief enabling officer at Tocci Building Cos., in a statement. "Much of this residential activity is located around busy Waltham Center, with easy access to numerous amenities and public transportation options."
