Transwestern RBJ partners Jonathan Varholak and Ron Friedman received the Commercial Brokers Association’s "Suburban Office Deal of the Year" award for their work representing Normandy Real Estate Partners in a 280,900-square-foot lease with TripAdvisor at Center 128 in Needham.

The 16-year deal brings TripAdvisor’s global headquarters back to Needham, where the online travel company was founded in 2000. It also includes a 150,000-square-foot expansion option.

"TripAdvisor is an excellent anchor tenant for Normandy Real Estate Partners at Center 128," Varholak said in a statement. "We enjoyed the collaborative effort among Normandy, TripAdvisor, the brokers and the officials of the town of Needham to bring the transaction to fruition."

TripAdvisor was represented in the transaction by Mark Roth and Jay Wagner of Cushman & Wakefield and Anne Columbia and Patrick Downey of the Columbia Group. The CBA’s Achievement Awards Dinner was held March 6 at the InterContinental Boston.
