The U-Haul Co. of Eastern Massachusetts is offering 30 days of free storage to residents and families of the Chestnut Lodge apartment complex in North Attleborough, which recently suffered major damage in a fire that left one dead and displaced several families.
The offer also includes access to the company’s U-Box Portable Storage program, in which boxes are either picked up by or delivered to customers, packed, and stored in a secure location or delivered to a destination chosen by the customer.
In addition to the 30 days of free storage being offered, U-Haul said customers who need boxes can take advantage of its "Take a Box, Leave a Box" program. The program enables customers to return their reusable boxes and allows others to take them as needed, free of charge. U-Haul is also encouraging anyone with any type of reusable box to drop it off at the nearest U-Haul location for re-use, instead of throwing it away.
"This fire caused a tremendous amount of damage to the North Attleborough community," said Scott Chase, president, U-Haul Co. of Eastern Massachusetts. "I hope this effort will help provide assistance to residents and families of the Chestnut Lodge apartment complex that need support. We will do our best to help our friends and neighbors in this time of need."
