ValiRx Plc, a London-based life science company that specializes in cancer therapeutics and diagnostics, has opened its first U.S. office in Cambridge’s Kendall Square.
The company will occupy co-working space in Regus’ Kendall Square Business Center co-working space on the 18th floor of 245 First St. It has appointed several U.S. advisors to support its U.S. research operations and strengthen collaboration with local biotech leaders, CEO Satu Vainikka said in a statement.
“Massachusetts is a world renowned hub for biotech and life sciences, with a large number and variety of biotech and biopharma companies in the region making our decision to open an office there both easy and very compelling. Our proximity to so many potential customers is most definitely an advantage,” Vainikka said in the statement.
The Massachusetts Life Science Center has been working with the company since 2013 to help them find a Massachusetts location. It has not been awarded any upfront state incentives, but will be eligible to participate in MLSC funding programs now that it has established a Massachusetts operation, according to a MLSC spokeswoman.
