West Springfield-based United Bank has donated a total of $88,118 to the United Ways of Pioneer Valley, Hampshire County and Central Massachusetts through a 22-branch bank employee campaign and from a contribution from the bank’s charitable foundation.
The bank’s employee campaign donated more than $52,000 and the United Bank Foundation contributed $36,000, according to a statement.
"Thanks to the generous participation of our employees, we were able to surpass last year’s level of giving and maintain our tradition of support for this important cause," said Richard B. Collins, president and CEO of United Bank. "The commitment to, and support of, the United Way by our employees will improve the lives of many families and individuals in the communities where we work and live."
