Vantage Builders Inc., a general contracting and construction firm based in Waltham, has completed a 16,000-square-foot office renovation for Boston Properties in Chelmsford.

Boston Properties hired Vantage to construct updated office space at 271 Mill Road for its new tenant, AMEC, an international engineering and project management company relocating from Westford. The Mill Road property was built in 2001.

"Working within newer construction, like Quorum Office Park, certainly has advantages," Mike Thayer, senior project manager at Vantage Builders, said in a statement. "We were able to create the office space that AMEC envisioned and make sure their employees were able to hit the ground running immediately after the move."

Following designs by architects Perkins+Will, Vantage constructed 30 new offices and the facilities to support 60 cubicles, as well as four conference rooms and other supporting rooms. The work required significant internal demolition, including the removal of existing walls and the relocation of electrical systems to accommodate AMEC’s employees and equipment. New finishes for the location included wall paint and new carpeting throughout the office.
