53 State St., BostonVeolia Energy North America, developer and operator of efficient energy solutions, and the operator of the country’s largest portfolio of district energy networks, is relocating from 99 Summer St. to the 14th floor of 53 State St. in Boston.

The firm will occupy 27,440 square feet of office space to serve as its North American headquarters.

A team of three from Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant: Ben Heller and Brendan Callahan, managing directors, and Brian Connolly, senior vice president. The landlord was represented by Cassidy Turley FHO Senior Managing Director/Principal Glenn Verrette and Vice President John McHugh.

"Veolia Energy is pleased to expand the size of its U.S. headquarters in Boston, which is the most progressive and vibrant energy services market in the country," Cyrille du Peloux, president and CEO of Veolia Energy North America, said in a statement. "Jones Lang LaSalle has been instrumental in helping us locate office space that supports our company’s commitment to environmental responsibility."

Veolia Energy North America is moving from its current location on Summer Street, where it has resided since 2007, and its energy consulting and engineering subsidiary, SourceOne Inc., will also relocate to the new headquarters from 132 Canal St., making the move both a consolidation and an expansion.

Veolia Energy’s occupancy at 53 State is scheduled to begin in early 2013.
