Boston-based Wainwright Bank & Trust Co. has been selected as one of the first eco-intelligent banks by SustainLINK, a free online service profiling environmentally conscious and socially responsible financial institutions.

"As a pioneer in corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability, we are honored to be chosen by SustainLINK as one of the first eco-intelligent banks in the country," said Steven F. Young, senior vice president of Wainwright Bank.

"By knowing which banks are most responsive to our priorities regarding issues like climate change and societal stewardship, we anticipate bank depositors — whether consumers, businesses or nonprofits — will seek out eco-intelligent banks to align their money with their values," said Dan Parker, SustainLINK’s chief strategy officer.
