Bright Horizons headquaraters, 200/400 Talcott Ave., WatertownBright Horizons, a provider of employer-sponsored child care and early education, is about to undergo a 60,000-square-foot renovation in its headquarters at 200/400 Talcott Ave. in Watertown.

The company is redistributing space within departments and redesigning work environments, according to a statement. Newton-based construction firm Commodore Builders has been awarded the contract. CBT Architects, Vanderweil Engineers and Project Manager Jose Luis San Miguel are also working on the child care center renovation.

"Commodore looks forward to building on our relationship with Bright Horizons," said Joe Albanese, founder and CEO of Commodore Builders. "We’ve been renovating child care centers from Boston to Stamford and now welcome this opportunity to continue our collaboration at the Watertown headquarters."

Commodore has completed several projects for Bright Horizons, including renovations of occupied day care facilities in Foxborough, Wayland, Charlestown, Back Bay, Allston and Stamford, Conn. Throughout the Bright Horizons renovation project, the Commodore team will take special care to isolate construction zones from occupied space, minimizing daytime disruption and ensuring safety of the occupants, according to a statement.

Preconstruction is underway and completion of phase one is expected in late this year.
