Scott Weiss joined real estate services firm The Gutierrez Co. this past summer as the managing director of commercial development. Upon joining the company, Weiss assumed responsibility for Gutierrez’s development activities in the Burlington and MetroWest communities, overseeing both commercial and mixed-use development projects.
Currently, Weiss is supervising the progress of three key development projects. Weiss assisted with the construction completion, leasing and grand opening of 5 Wall St., Burlington’s first LEED-certified 181,700-sqaure-foot built-to-suit office building.
He also obtained local permits and completed the state environmental review process for the Burlington Research Center at 43/63 South Ave. The 600,000-square-foot Burlington Research Center development is now shovel-ready to become Burlington’s first biotech/life science center.
Weiss is also managing The 495 Center project in Northborough which is designed to bring economic development to the community in an environmentally friendly manner. Local and state permitting for this 220,000-square-foot warehouse/industrial facility has been completed, preparing the site to be shovel-ready for a build-to-suit facility.
Weiss came to The Gutierrez Co. from National Development, where he was vice president of development.
