Quincy Center’s luxury apartments West of Chestnut will open its second building to accommodate new residents in the Hancock District on Sept. 1, over 50 percent of which have been pre-leased.

The complex contains 169 highly amenitized residential units located near MBTA’s Quincy Center Station. The two, 6-story midrise buildings contain a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units, and will also include two restaurants, a fitness studio and a café/bakery.

“Living at West of Chestnut gives residents the best of the Boston area’s dynamic amenities, nightlife and dining without the high prices,” Kyle B. Warwick, principal of project developer Gate Residential, said in a statement. “This is an exciting time for us and the city of Quincy as we welcome new residents and celebrate another important milestone in the transformation of downtown Quincy.”

Gate Residential began construction last year following the announcement of a new joint venture with landowner Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

West of Chestnut began leasing in February, with some residents moving into the first two buildings in May.
