Westfield State University is planning to build a new $38 million, 400-bed residence hall.
Newton-based Diversified Project Management Inc. (DPM) will manage the design and construction of the project, which is part of an $80 million master plan including a new academic hall and expanded dining facilities, according to a statement. ADD Inc., of Boston, has been selected as the designer and Walsh Brothers Inc. will serve as the construction manager.
Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2012. Officials expect the project to be completed in time for the start of the 2013-2014 academic year.
