A Weymouth man was recently sentenced to six years in prison for two counts of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery.
U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton sentenced Charles Knights, 43, to six years in prison and three years of supervised release for each count, to be served concurrently. Knights was on supervised release at the time he committed those crimes and was previously sentenced to six months’ in prison for a supervised release violation.
On Feb. 25, 2013, Knights attempted to rob the Citizens Bank at 607 Boylston St. in Boston by means of a demand note. Later that day, while police were still on the scene at Citizens Bank, Knights robbed the Sovereign Bank at 279 Massachusetts Ave., making off with $415 in cash.
On March 4, he robbed the TD Bank at 1840 Massachusetts Ave. in Lexington, ultimately stealing $865 in cash.
