Wholesale Food Distributor Expands Taunton Warehouse Space

New England wholesale food distributor AGAR has expanded its warehouse space in Taunton by 50,000 square feet.

The expansion, which started in October 2009, will allow AGAR to continue to increase efficiencies and remain a competitive partner and supplier to independent restaurants and other food service providers.

The new warehouse addition has 25,000 square feet of dry storage and 25,000 square feet of frozen storage. AGAR’s total warehouse operation is more than 335,000 square feet.

Because of AGAR’s pledge to stay in Taunton and build upon its workforce, the company was awarded a tax increment financing agreement (TIF). The TIF is an extension of a previous TIF awarded to AGAR in 2000 for their original construction. The TIF covers the new expansion from 2011 to 2017.
