A Worcester woman has been sentenced to up to three years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing $184,000 from her former employer.
Michelle Gedman pleaded guilty Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court to four counts of larceny of more than $250 by a single scheme.
The 38-year-old Gedman was sentenced to one to three years behind bars and 15 years of probation. She was also ordered to pay full restitution to A.A. Zamarro Associates Inc., a tax and financial services business. Prosecutors say she took the money to support her addiction to pain killers.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that Gedman’s lawyer said her client is drug free and being treated for clinical depression and asked for 15 years of probation. (AP)
