The YMCA of Greater Boston has engaged Jones Lang LaSalle for a major renovation of its 316 Huntington Ave. facility.

The $25 million renovation project on the more than 100-year-old, 67,225-square-foot facility will begin with the demolition of part of the structure that houses a pool and squash courts.

The new addition will include a handicap accessible pool, gymnasium and offices. The basement, first and second floors will undergo a complete interior renovation to include new family locker rooms, childcare, an exercise room and café. The existing lobby’s atrium space will be preserved and its skylight renewed by replacing the roof membrane and panels with new insulating glass. The main entry level will have an updated lobby and reception area, after-school program areas and multi-purpose meeting and activity space.
