A 345,000-square-foot high-bay distribution facility has broken ground in Bellingham to meet growing demand from e-commerce and logistics industries along the Interstate 495 corridor.

Lincoln Property Co. and Barings are partnering on the $30-million speculative project, called Lincoln Logistics 36, which is located on 68 acres at 160 Mechanic St. Completion is scheduled for fall 2020.

ARCO National Construction Company is the general contractor. Lincoln Property’s Ellison Patten and James Tambone are exclusive leasing agents. 

The building will feature 36-foot clear heights and 70 dock doors with vision panels, 50 trailer parking spaces, mechanical levelers, dock seals and dock lights, 60 foot speed bays,130-foot truck court and 227 car parking spaces. Energy-efficient features include LED sensor lighting, ESFR sprinklers and windows above truck doors in lieu of skylights.
