Brookline-based developer City Realty has submitted plans for a 336-unit condominium and apartment development spanning six properties at a gateway intersection in Allston.

Known as Allston Square, the $127 million project would redevelop the Allston Hall building and add five new multifamily structures near the corner of Harvard Avenue and Cambridge Street, creating 228 condos and 106 apartments.

Spanning 2.1 acres currently occupied by a parking lot, warehouses and residences, the 256,425-square-foot project would include 22,145 square feet of ground floor retail space and 237 parking spaces, according to a project notification form submitted to the Boston Planning and Development Agency.

Designs by architects Embarc Studio of Boston call for a mix of 5- to 7-story buildings:

  • 334 Cambridge St.: The existing Jack Young building would be replaced with a 65-unit condo building with 35 parking spaces and 4,150 square feet of retail.
  • 16 Highgate St.: Currently occupied by a duplex, the property would be redeveloped with 20 multifamily residences and six parking spaces.
  • 2-8 Harvard Ave.: 77 residential units, nearly 10,000 square feet of retail and 77 parking spaces would replace a 1-story commercial building.
  • Allston Hall: The building would be renovated for nine residences and 2,300 square feet of retail.
  • 415 Cambridge St.: The auto repair shop would be replaced with a 101-unit condo building, 102 parking spaces and 2,500 square feet of retail.
  • Franklin-Braintree Building: The commercial building and parking lot would be demolished to make way for a 62-unit condo building, 46 parking spaces and 1,210 square feet of retail.

In addition to BPDA approval, the plans require a use variance and dimensional variances from the Zoning Board of Appeal. City Realty said it hopes to begin construction in spring 2019.
