A developer has applied to build a 62-unit apartment building near the corner of College and South East streets in Amherst.

In a report to the Amherst Town Council Monday, Town Manager Paul Bockelman wrote that the town’s planning board is scheduled to hear the application on July 24. MassLive.com first reported the application.

The building at 133-143 South East St. would also have 68 parking spaces and retail space on the ground floor, Bockelman said.

Information on file at the Hampshire Registry of Deeds lists the property owners as Fatimah Giahi and Amir Mikhichi, who bought the land for $200,000 in 2005.
