A developer is proposing a housing development just off of VFW Parkway in West Roxbury.

The site at 197 Gardner St. near the West Roxbury VA Medical Center is composed of two industrial parcels on either side of Gardner Street totaling 62,451 square feet.

Developer Peter Davos is proposing a 96,000-square-foot mixed rental/ownership development, with 17 for-sale, three-bedroom townhouses and 70 apartments, according to a letter of intent filed with the Boston Planning and Development Agency. Each townhouse would have its own garage in addition to 70 parking spaces for the apartment residents.

The project abuts the new Oak Row Apartments on VFW Parkway, also developed by Davos.
