WinnCompanies of Boston has hired Michael Defferding as executive vice president of property management operations at its military housing services division

Defferding will have a leadership role overseeing operations within the company’s military housing communities throughout the country.  WinnResidential Military Housing Services Division is a joint venture between WinnResidential and Actus Lend Lease.

The portfolio consists of more than 40,000 homes catering to more than 150,000 military family members at installations throughout the continental U.S., Hawaii and Alaska.

Most recently, Defferding was an executive vice president with Forest City Enterprise’s business unit, responsible for development, construction, property, asset and maintenance management and finance. Prior to joining Forest City, Defferding served as a senior vice president with Jones Lang LaSalle from May 2000 until January 2004. 

In his new role, Defferding reports to William Wollinger, president and chief operating officer of WinnResidential.
