VMart International Food Market To Open In Lowell

VMart International Food Market has signed a triple net five-year lease for 15,500 square feet in Lowell.

The food market plans to open on March 25 at Central Plaza Shopping Center on Church Street. Its lease includes three five-year options.

Central Plaza Shopping Center is a 296,000-square-foot shopping complex owned by Central Plaza Realty LLC. Tenants include AutoZone, Pizza Hut and Mill City Fitness.

"Over the past year, we declined several prospective tenants who had offered to pay market rents because we did not believe they would add to the long-term economic vitality of Central Plaza," Jim and Effie Dragon, managing partners of Central Plaza Realty LLC, said in a statement. "We wanted a tenant that could help to meet the basic needs of greater Lowell residents. We feel that we have been rewarded for our patience and believe VMart will set a new standard for international grocery stores in the greater Lowell area."

VMart currently has stores in Worcester and Providence.
