Anna Maria College has received a grant to renovate the college’s Bishop Flanagan Campus Center.

Worcester-based George I. Alden trust has granted $400,000 to the school for the project. Anna Maria is in the process of hiring a designer and the renovations are expected to begin this May, spanning up to four months until the anticipated unveil at start of the fall 2016 semester.

“The renovations to the existing center will bring about significant improvements to aesthetics, comfort and energy savings,” David K. Breen, vice president and chief operations officer at Anna Maria, said in a statement.

“We appreciate the generosity of the Alden Trustees and their faith in the mission of Anna Maria College,” Anna Maria College President Mary Lou Retelle said in a statement. “Their sizeable and worthwhile investment in the college enables us to move forward on significant updates to greatly enhance the comfort and atmosphere of our campus center – one of our busiest locations on campus for students and staff alike.”
