As it pursues growth of its suburban brokerage business, Avison Young has added a CBRE veteran as its newest principal in Boston.

Jason Levendusky will lead Avison Young’s north suburban leasing team for office, R&D and industrial space, Avison Young announced today.

Levendusky has 22 years of commercial real estate experience, and most recently was an executive vice president at CBRE in Boston.

In addition to his north suburban focus, Levendusky will help coordinate Avison Young’s expansion throughout the region, the firm said.

Thomas Collins, who was named managing director of Toronto-based Avison Young’s New England region in August, told Banker & Tradesman that his top priority is enhancing brokerage teams in all Greater Boston suburban markets and Cambridge. Recent consolidation in the industry gives Avison Young a chance to recruit brokers who are affected by recent mergers, Collins said.

Levendusky has negotiated 185 leases and sales totaling more than 6 million square feet in the last five years. Prior to his 18-year career at CBRE, Levendusky was director of leasing for Goldman Sachs’ WP Commercial opportunity fund. His first industry position was with Burlington-based Nordblom Co.
