Avison Young has named a new head of its Boston and Connecticut operations to fill the shoes Thomas Collins left on his retirement.

John Dolan, a principal at Avison Young since early 2021, is now the company’s managing director for New England, the company said in an announcement Tuesday.

“John is a proven leader and a champion of multi-market occupier services within the commercial real estate industry and I’m excited to have him take on the role of Managing Director in New England,” Juan Bueno, Avison Young principal and U.S. president, said in a statement. “John has been a natural fit for Avison Young’s people-focused culture since joining in 2021. His collaborative approach will continue to broaden and strengthen our foundation across the U.S. northeast region.”

In its announcement of Dolan’s promotion, Avison Young touted his 15 years of experience in commercial real estate, having worked for “a variety of noteworthy Central and South Route 128 market clients” and advised occupiers on return-to-office policies.

“Avison Young continues to make a positive impact for the office, life science, and industrial occupiers in the New England market,” Dolan said in a statement provided by Avison Young. “This is a transformational time for growth and expansion and I look forward to partnering with our Avison Young teams to continue fostering a consultative, data-driven approach to providing real estate solutions to our clients.”
