A $12.9 million permanent loan from MassHousing will extend affordability restrictions and pay for capital improvements at a 106-unit Brockton property.

The Bixby Brockton Apartments for senior citizens and residents with disabilities will receive $800,000 in repairs and updates to apartments, building systems and common areas. The complex contains a pair of buildings completed in 1875 and 1983 at 103 and 106 Main St.

Property owner Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative (AHSC), refinanced the property through MassHousing’s Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP)/Ginnie Mae Joint Venture program, with Rockport Mortgage Corp. as lender.

AHSC executed two new 20-year housing assistance payments under the federal Section 8 program, extending the affordability for all of the units from 33 to 37 years.
