Team officials, including Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs and President Cam Neely, appeared at the groundbreaking Wednesday. The rink, the first built in Boston in 40 years, will be open to the public.

The Boston Celtics are in talks with developers to relocate their training facility to Boston Landing as well, the Boston Herald reported. The team currently practices at the Sports Training Facility HealthPoint, a fitness club in a Waltham office park.

Developed by Boston-based HYM Investment Group, the 15-acre Boston Landing complex on Guest Street will include an additional 650,000 square feet of offices, housing, retail, a sports complex and a 175-room hotel.
