A Cambridge property anchored by Whole Foods Market sold to a Rye, New York developer that owns a large national portfolio of specialty shopping centers.

Benderson Development of Bradenton, Florida paid $26.4 million for the 330 River St. property, which includes a two-story, 40,800-square-foot Whole Foods Market developed in 2001 and a 13,426-square-foot Walgreens pharmacy.

Newmark represented the seller, Arcadia Realty Trust, which had owned the property since 2012.

“The property’s combination of longstanding grocery store tenancy, investment-grade credit, first-class real estate, dense, affluent demographics and future upside potential continues to be highly sought after,” Newmark Managing Director John Martin said in a statement.
