Cape Cod 5 has named Stephen Johannessen chief financial officer. He will retain his existing titles of senior vice president and treasurer and continue reporting to Matt Burke, the bank’s co-president.

“Steve has demonstrated strong leadership skills while leading our accounting and finance teams and while working to enhance Cape Cod 5’s data analytics capabilities,” Dorothy Savarese, board chair and CEO of Cape Cod 5, said in a statement. “This well-earned promotion is a direct reflection of his commitment to the financial strength of our institution and to the continued evolution of the bank as we work together to meet the needs of our customers as their trusted adviser.”

Johannessen joined Cape Cod 5 in 2013 as financial project manager and most recently held the role of treasurer. Prior to joining Cape Cod 5, Johannessen served as audit manager at a national public accounting and advisory firm, where he earned his certified public accounting license.
