BayCoast Bank has a generous week, North Brookfield Savings Bank will sponsor a blood drive for Baystate Medical, and Webster Five donates to Worcester’s Boys and Girls Club in this week’s collection of companies that contribute to their community.

 

BayCoast Bank

BayCoast Bank has donated $10,000 in sponsorship of two events hosted by Meeting Street School/The Schwartz Center. Meeting Street School, located in Providence, Rhode Island, and The Schwartz Center in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, offer a variety of educational, therapeutic and diagnostic services for children with special needs. BayCoast Bank’s recent $10,000 donation sponsored the Fishing for a Cause/Seaside Dinner held in June and the 29th Annual Walk & 5K Race, slated for Sept. 16. In addition to the recent $10,000 sponsorships, BayCoast Bank donated $1,500 to the Meeting Street School/Schwartz Center annual telethon earlier this year.

The bank also pledged a total of $100,000 to My Brother’s Keeper, in order to fund construction of the nonprofit organization’s Dartmouth Building Project. BayCoast Bank initially pledged $50,000 over a five-year period and subsequently made an additional donation of $50,000 for a grand total of $100,000 toward the building project that is currently in progress.

 

EMCOR

President of EMCOR Services Northeast Inc. Phillip Megna, Robert Gallagher, president and CEO of J.C. Higgins Corp., and James Lane, senior vice president and general manager, Building Technology Engineers, Inc. presented a $10,000 check to be donated to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children during ceremonies at the EMCOR In Greater Boston 10th Annual Charity Golf Event held Monday, July 17, at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton.

 

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union recently announced that the winner of its latest Give-A-Click campaign is Uncommon Threads. Uncommon Threads uses clothes as a tool for boosting the self-esteem and self-worth of women in need. The Lawrence-based nonprofit received a $1,500 donation from the We Share A Common Thread Foundation.

 

MutualOne

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $10,000 to support the summer camp program at Musterfield Place, a residential development managed by the Framingham Housing Authority. The grant will cover salary costs for four local high school and college students to staff the day camp program. The $10,000 Musterfield Place grant was among awards totaling $67,000 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

 

North Brookfield Savings Bank

In response to the critical blood shortage the nation currently is experiencing and to directly help support the efforts of the only Level 1 trauma center in Western Massachusetts, North Brookfield Savings Bank is sponsoring a blood drive at its Palmer branch location on Friday, Aug. 18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The blood drive will supply much-needed blood to Baystate Medical Center of Springfield and all Baystate Health hospitals.

 

Webster Five

The Webster Five Foundation announced that as part of the Web of Caring to Make a Difference program, it will donate $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester. The Boys & Girls Club is looking to expand their arts and education programs, which serves about 160 children every week. The club offers homework help, tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, financial literacy, college prep, SAT prep and many other essential resources.
