Leominster-based AIS Parnters partnered with the United Way of North Central Massachusetts to create mask kits volunteer mask-makers can request for free as part of a drive to create and donate up to 1 million washable, reusable face masks for first-responders and those at high risk of contracting COVID-19.
Citizens Bank
Providence, Rhode Island-based Citizens Bank’s donation of $400,000 to the Local Initiatives Support Corp. has borne its first fruit: grants to 79 Massachusetts businesses of up to $10,000 to help them weather the COVID-19 economic downturn.
City Realty Group
Boston-based City Realty Group donated 100 meals to feed nurses and other front-line staff at Massachusetts General Hospital’s COVID-19 wards. The meals were prepared by Lower Mills Tavern staff.
Cummings Properties
Cummings Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Woburn-based Cummings Properties, has made grants to 130 nonprofits in Middlesex, Suffolk and Essex counties of at least $100,000 each. The organizations work in areas of social justice, human services, education and healthcare.
Direct Federal Credit Union
Needham-based Direct Federal Credit Union announced the establishment of a $12,000 scholarship fund in honor of 35-year board member David Johnson, who is also a former vice-chair, chair and chair emeritus.
Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union
Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awarded $17,000 in college scholarships to members through its MoneyStrong College Scholarship and Employee Scholarship Programs. The recipients are 21 soon-to-be and current college students.
North Shore Bank
Peabody-based North Shore Bank has given $50,000 to Citizens Inn, a food pantry and shelter for the North Shore’s most vulnerable individuals and families.
Rollstone Bank & Trust
Leominster-based Rollstone Bank & Trust is donating an additional $10,000 to five area nonprofit organizations to assist with COVID-19-related work during the ongoing pandemic: United Way of North Central Massachusetts, the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, Ginny’s Helping Hands, North Star Family Services and the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
