Bridgewater Savings Bank

Bridgewater Savings Bank gave 14 college scholarships to area high school students totaling $21,000.

Cornerstone Bank

Worcester-based Cornerstone Bank gave $2,000 each to 16 area high school seniors to assist with college costs.

Cummings Properties

Woburn-based Cummings Properties announced it is increasing the total amount of money given during its annual grant cycle from $20 million to $25 million for its 2021 cycle. This year’s recipients included 140 nonprofits in Essex, Middlesex and Suffolk counties, where the suburban landlords owns properties.

Dedham Savings Bank

Dedham Savings Bank gave $10,000 to the Westwood Media Center. These funds will be used to help offset the cost of a new studio to be used for interviews, talk shows, sports shows, music shows, a weekly news program and other community interest programs on the community access cable television station.

Envision Bank

Randolph-based Envision Bank donated $10,000 to the Resilient Randolph fund, set up by community leaders and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley. The city has seen unemployment rates of around 30 percent thanks to the coronavirus crisis. The fund in intended to help city residents make rent and mortgage payments and to buy food and other basic necessities.

Hanscom Federal Credit Union

Hanscom Federal Credit Union made a $10,000 donation to the United Service Organization (USO) of New England. As part of this donation, the credit union was the presenting sponsor for the USO’s “Military Kids Are Heroes Too!” event on Saturday, June 20 on Hanscom Air Force Base and will be sponsoring “Catch a Cold” Coffee Breaks at Coast Guard Base Boston and the US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center throughout the summer.

The credit union also gave $2,364 to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Burlington, matching an equivalent amount raised by its employees.

Helge Capital

Boston-based commercial real estate firm Helge Capital has followed an earlier donation to the Codman Square Health Center with a further 44 pulse oximeter devices, used for measuring blood pressure and oxygen content.

MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union

Framingham-based MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union gave $1,000 scholarships to one Ashland High School and one Belmont High School students.

MutualOne Bank

Framingham-based MutualOne Bank gave $7,000 to support the Local Initiative for Family Empowerment (LIFE) program at Family Promise Metrowest. The LIFE program is a homelessness prevention program supporting families with children who are not yet homeless, but are at risk of eviction.

The bank made a second $3,000 donation to Famingham’s Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer to support their Helping Hands program. The program provides selected patients undergoing active chemotherapy treatments with fully prepared, flash frozen meals for their use.

North Brookfield Savings Bank

North Brookfield Savings Bank gave $3,000 to the North Brookfield Youth Center to buy Chromebooks and supplies for their summer programming.

RTN Federal Credit Union

Waltham-based RTN Federal Credit Union provided dinner for visitors to the city’s Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen on June 30. During the pandemic, Bristol Lodge has been providing “to go meals” to avoid large gatherings that are not safe and can be high risk for the spread of COVID-19.  RTN purchased and provided a menu of submarine sandwiches, individual fruit cups and bags of potato chips. Volunteers from the lender dropped off the food at Bristol Lodge to be packaged and distributed to those who stop by to pick up the meal.
