Lowell-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union surprised customers at the Fletcher Street Market Basket in Lowell with gift cards on World Kindness Day, Nov. 13, as part of its Small Acts That Give Back initiative. Employees handed out 100 $15 gift cards.
Mechanics Cooperative Bank
Fall River-based Mechanics Cooperative Bank dispersed a $100,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Jobs for New England Recovery Program to provide members of the local business community with working capital purposes including payroll, required COVID-19 related expenditures, debt service, utilities and inventory.
Rockland Trust
Hannover-based Rockland Trust commemorated the opening of its second Worcester branch with $5,000 donations to both Girls Inc. of Worcester and Friendly House.
Rollstone Bank
Leominster-based Rollstone Bank donated $10,000 recently to NewVue Communities, located in Fitchburg, to provide support to new businesses recovering from the disruption created by the COVID-19 lockdown.
The bank also donated $25,000 to fund a pilot program to help students at St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg to explore financial aid opportunities for college through Campus Bound, a company that specializes in helping families to identify, apply and afford the college that is the best fit for the student.
City Realty
Boston developer and multifamily landlord City Realty donated 12 new Chromebook laptop computers to students at the Rafael Hernandez School, a two-way bilingual school in Roxbury through its City Kids nonprofit.
