CHAPA

Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA), The Boston Foundation, United Way of Greater Fall River, United Way of Greater New Bedford, United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, and the National Low Income Housing Coalition made $678,000 in one-time grants to 20 Massachusetts organizations helping thousands of people seek financial assistance to pay rent and mortgage expenses.

Martha’s Vineyard Bank 

Edgartown-based Martha’s Vineyard Bank announced it has donated $186,168 during the third quarter to 74 nonprofits alongside the second, $200,000 installment of its $1 million pledge to help fund a new early childhood center run by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services. The center opened Nov. 2.

The Peabody Cos.

Carolina Sholl, a multi-site property manager at Braintree-based real estate firm The Peabody Cos. raised $10,360 for Metro Housing/Boston when she ran the 125th Boston Marathon, in part through donations from her Peabody Cos. coworkers.

Washington Trust Co.

Rhode Island-based bank Washington Trust Co. donated $21,000 to 21 local hunger relief agencies across its footprint in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
