Bank of America 

Bank of America made a total of $525,000 in donations to Massachusetts food pantries recently:

  • The Greater Boston Food Bank ($225,000)
  • Lovin’ Spoonfuls ($225,000)
  • The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts ($50,000)
  • The Worcester County Food Bank ($25,000)

Country Bank

Ware-based Country Bank announced it had tallied its corporate giving from 2021 and found it made $1.1 million in donations to over 300 organizations, and bank staff performed 478 hours of community service.

Cummings Properties

Woburn-based office landlord Cummings Properties made two large donations via its foundation in recent weeks:

  • $2 million to Dorchester-based food business incubator CommonWealth Kitchen. The gift will help the nonprofit, oriented towards minority- and women-owned start-ups, buy its own headquarters.
  • $12.5 million to the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, to help the South End tech school aimed at first-generation college students develop a life science workforce training program.

Envision Bank

Randolph-based Envision Bank gave $17,500 to Brockton-based affordable housing developer NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.

North Shore Bank

North Shore Bank, based in Peabody, gave $1,200 to Gloucester’s The Open Door program via its monthly “jeans day,” where employees donate $5 to be allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays. The Open Door is a food pantry.

RTN Federal Credit Union 

Waltham-based RTN Federal Credit Union donated 50 handmade blankets and $250 towards the purchase of blankets, clothing and pajamas to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless’ A Bed for Every Child program and its Gift of Warmth Drive being held during February.

The Village Bank

Newton-based The Village Bank announced it will be giving out 17 scholarships to high school students from the Class of 2022, totaling $50,000.
